A Pharmaceutical Manufacturer needed to migrate a legacy document management system away from a proprietary back end to utilize the document management and workflow capabilities of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007). KMA constructed a SharePoint API atop an existing, validated document management system. The result was that users could continue to use the application with which they were most comfortable, while leveraging the tools of MOSS for document management, integrated security and access models.
A Pharmaceutical Manufacturer needed to make their sales reporting more consistent, accurate, and timely. KMA worked with the client to perform intensive business process analysis via Microsoft’s Business Value Planning Services. Based on this short engagement, KMA and the client used Excel automation, SharePoint, and PowerPoint to reduce manual re-keying of information and shorten the time and number of steps from line-of-business systems to executive management PowerPoint presentations and line management dashboards using Excel Web Services for MOSS 2007.
A Pharmaceutical Company entered into a co-development and co-marketing agreement with a partner company, and wanted to share information within their development team and to securely publish selected information to their new partner. They selected MOSS 2007 as their extranet platform of choice, and KMA architected, deployed, and customized a SharePoint-based extranet solution for the client. In subsequent phases, KMA assisted this same client with the build-out of a SharePoint intranet to support other forms of internal collaboration.
A Contract Research Organization performing pre-clinical tests of new therapies for its customers — leading drug and medical device firms – wanted to implement MOSS 2007 as the centerpiece of its research process, to provide a location for key documents and data and a portal to its clients. KMA worked with the client to install SharePoint, configure it to meet their needs and assist with the creation of validation documents and execution of test scripts. The implementation included a template for a study site to organize all study data in a standard format, simplifying both storage and retrieval for both internal resources and by the firm’s clients.
